How to choose feminized seeds for a Canadian grow
Feminized seeds are bred to grow female plants, the ones that produce buds, so you can skip sexing seedlings and pulling males. The feminized strains here are photoperiod plants: they keep growing until the nights get long enough, then flower. Indoors you control that with the light timer. Outdoors the calendar decides, and in most of Canada that means buds forming through August and September and harvest from late September into October.
Match flowering time to your season
Listed flowering times on our feminized strains run from 6 to 12 weeks. Outdoors that matters more than THC, because a long-flowering strain can still be ripening when frost, cold rain or mould arrives. For the Prairies, northern Ontario, Atlantic Canada or a damp BC autumn, start with the fastest:

Indoors, longer-flowering strains are fine because you set the schedule.
Growing feminized seeds indoors
Give plants 18 hours of light a day while they grow, then switch to 12 hours on and 12 hours of uninterrupted darkness to start flowering. Most plants stretch noticeably in the first weeks of flower, so switch earlier in a short tent. Photoperiod plants recover well from topping and training, which is how most indoor growers fill a tent evenly.
Feminized, autoflower or regular?
Choose feminized photoperiods for bigger plants and control over timing. Choose autoflower seeds when your season is too short or you want the simplest grow. Choose regular seeds if you plan to breed.
