What Are The Differences Between Indica, Sativa And Hybrid strains?

When I was a teenager, there was just “weed”, good stuff and bad stuff. Very little to no choices over what type of weed you could get, you were just generally happy to get high and watch a Pink Floyd lazer show. Today, with all the advances and the possibility buy marijuana seeds online you can grow your own cannabis at home. When you buy marijuana seeds online you can choose the genetics and strains that interest you and not just whatever your local market can provide. As we know, not all cannabis strains are created equal and depending on the genetics, the plant you want to grow could be a poor choice for your environment and or skill level. Indicas, sativas, and the many hybrid strains in between all grow differently, take varying times to flower, require different environments and produce a different end product that are all unique in their own right. In today’s article, were going to explore some of the differences between growing the 3 different cannabis types so you know what strain to choose when you buy marijuana seeds online for the first time.

Lets talk about indica strains first as it was pretty much all you could grow in North America before sativa and hybrids were introduced. Some of the characteristics of indica plants are that they produce higher yields, have a shorter flowering time than sativas, and they tend to be a shorter bushier plant. The yields and flowering time associated with indica plants are what makes them so popular with growers. This means more bang for your buck if you are growing to make money, you can grow more crops per year and get more out of each crop than with sativas. Because of the shorter flowering times, this allows outdoor growing to exist in climates where fall turns into winter quickly. For indoor growing, it just allows you to turn your crops over faster throughout the year and increase your profit margins. Also, due to the indica plants being shorter and bushier, it makes them more ideal for indoor growing when space can be limited. The effects we know from indica buds are sedating and give us that relaxed feeling that we all love. Indica strains are good for anxiety, pain, muscle spasms and insomnia and if you want to treat that you can easily buy marijuana seeds online. These are our favourite indica strains: Blueberry and Bubba Kush.

Next up we have sativa, which was always originally grown near the equator because of the mild winters and long summers. Some of the characteristics of the sativa plant are lower yields, longer flowering times, and the plants are tall and lanky with thinner leaves than their indica cousins have. The longer grow cycle and smaller yields are generally a downside and with most growers looking at maximizing their profits they preferred indica strains when they buy marijuana seeds online. Also, due to the height of sativa plants, they can be difficult to work with when growing indoors if space and ceiling heights are an issue. But there’s lots of upside to growing sativa plants, so we can see an increase in their popularity over the last decade and more growers will choose sativa strains when they buy marijuana seeds online. I personally prefer sativa strains over indica ones. There have been some advances in the breeding and genetics of sativa strains over the years.  Lately, some have been developed  to have faster flowering times and provide a higher yield, similar to what you’d expect with an indica crop. As mentioned indicas originally grew in areas near the equator. As such sativas are able to handle the heat better than indicas, which is a benefit if your growing indoors or in hotter climates like Arizona. Sativa strains are known for their uplifting effects and helping with creativity. The symptoms   sativas can help to relief are fatigue, mood disorders, depression, ADHD and ADD. So when you want to treat these naturally you can choose sativa strains when you buy marijuana seeds online. Our favourite sativa strains are: Jack Herer and  Sour Diesel .

Finally, we have the hybrid cannabis plant. Hybrids combine the best of both sativas and indicas. Hybrid characteristics can vary based on their breeding and depending on what strain is more dominant in them. Their flowering time varies, they generally produce a high yield which is important, and their shape and size varies depending on their dominant gene. To be honest, most strains on the market today are a hybrid one way or another. Generally they will lean towards one side of their genetic spectrum and take on the dominant traits of either indica or sativa. For example, they can inherit the shorter grow time of an indica strain, while providing the cerebral highs common with a sativa. Again, they usually have the higher yields associated with indicas, and sharing the faster vegetative growth step of sativas. Our favourite hybrid strains are these and just as a hint if you want to buy marijuana seeds online for the first time or try something new: Arjan Haze and Ice Wreck

Main Differences Between Indoor & Outdoor Grows

For many years growing cannabis outdoors was the only option. Growing it indoors has really taken off in the last few decades. Most of the advancements in cannabis production are a result of indoor growing and finding ways to improve lighting, mediums, exhaust systems and doing it undetected. Of course the easy excess to seeds as you can buy marijuana seeds online have an influence on the numbers as well. As technology improved, the industry was able to expand its knowledge of the plant by leaps and bounds, and this was also true for areas where outdoor farming managed to succeed like Northern California and Southern Oregon.

The differences between indoor and outdoor growing are important to know for the grower and the consumer. Environment, costs and quality are the main factors to consider for the grower, while quality is probably the most important for the consumer. We’re going to look at three key differences between the two methods today.

First up are the costs associated with either method. Both indoor and outdoor operations require substantial starting costs, but the differences really start to show long-term. Indoor climate control systems can cost a small fortune to operate, whereas a majority of the costs associated with outdoor grows are just in the beginning of the operation. Labor costs also vary between the two methods, with continual turnover in an indoor garden, there’s always work to be done. After you bought he marijuana seeds online and planted them the exciting grower work starts. Pruning, trellising, watering, feeding, and harvest work are ongoing and more demanding for smaller yields. Outdoors, the grower is working one crop throughout the season. Many outdoor farms with large outputs can operate with minimal employees until harvest, when additional help will be needed.

The high costs associated with indoor growing can be recovered through breeding year-round harvests, and creating potent products that have higher selling points. Also indoor growing allows for strains that would otherwise be unsuitable for their local outdoor environment and climate. However, with the rising cost of energy and an increasing demand for more flower in the marketplace, outdoor farming may be able supply the market with quality products at a more reasonable price.

Next up we have controlled environments vs the natural environment outdoor. Indoor farming allows for complete control of your environment from heat, humidity, light source, C02 production and temperature etc. Controlling these creates a stable habitat to optimize your plants’ growth without having to risk outdoor elements. The indoor grower typically finds cosmetically pristine flowers with a higher THC count. On the flip side, no bulb can produce the same spectrum of light unique to the sun which, in turn, limits indoor gardens with smaller yields and less vigorous plants. Outdoor farming, however, requires a climate suitable for cannabis production – good sun exposure, hot days, warm nights, and low humidity.

Growing indoors has complications as well. When the grower tries to simulate a natural environment, there are factors in the natural process that simply cant be replicated. For example, plants grown outside have substantial help against mites from natural predators who share the habitat. Wasps, ants, and ladybugs are some of “nature’s helpers” that keep mite populations at bay. Indoors, the grower cannot hope to completely mimic the incredibly complicated natural environment. If mites appear in an indoor grow space, they can be a challenge to control.
Finally we’re going to compare the quality of the cannabis between the two methods. Indoor buds have long been recognized as the top-of-the-line product. Being able to control your environment and expedite breeding has resulted in beautiful looking strains with magnificent flavour profiles. Introducing higher CO2 levels than in the natural environment increases bud growth and produces THC levels that are difficult to obtain outdoors. Additionally, indoor cannabis does not have to deal with rain, wind, or any of the other natural elements that can damage an outdoor crop. The buds remain in pristine condition and only start to degrade once handling begins. The scale of most indoor operations generally allows for crops to be harvested in peak conditions and for the product to be cured in a controlled climate.

Of course when growing outdoors, we aren’t able to control the natural environment. Though the end product may not look as pretty as an indoor grown one, the taste, effects, and aroma should still be there. Some consumers find sun-grown organic cannabis to be preferable to the cosmetically pristine indoor alternative. As the laws change and outdoor facilities are able to take their time in processing, the market should see an increase in quality from outdoor grows. Recently there has been an emergence of commercial greenhouse farming that strikes a balance between the two methods. This style of farming is producing quality results, which is exciting to see in this emerging industry. As we have seen, all styles of farming offer positives and negatives, so give methods a shot if you can and stick to what you like and what works best for you. We think it is so interesting that from buying marijuana online and planting it the end result really is up to the grower and the method used. We love growing our own plants and seeding how different they develop!

CBD Cannabis Strains Compared To THC Strains

For years when buying marijuana seeds online, cannabis connoisseurs have long been after potency as the main factor to choose one strain over another. In the old days before marijuana shops existed, cannabis potency was the go to in the illicit market, this is what would make you buy marijuana seeds from one dealer over another. Customers wanted to get the most value for their money, so the higher the potency, the longer and better the high, hence better value was perceived. Traditionally, cannabis users attributed strain potency to high levels of THC, which has led to the proliferation of strains that are full of it. THC for years was the most prevalent active compound in marijuana and most sought after, but it is only one of at least 85 compounds that we know of. Thanks to advances in modern science and society’s acceptance of marijuana’s growing legitimacy as a medicinal option, CBD is starting to emerge as the cannabinoid poised to take over top spot when buying marijuana seeds online.

What does CBD mean? CBD is the abbreviation for cannabidiol, the cannabinoid second only to THC when it comes to average volume. Research has recently shown that CBD  has anti-inflammatory, and anti-anxiety properties without the psychoactive effects (the stoned feeling) that THC provides. While high THC strains often tout levels of over 20%, in generally, CBD levels of over 4% are considered to be on the high side.
So why would someone buy marijuana seeds online and choose a strain with high CBD over one rich with THC? It was originally thought that cannabidiol’s main function was to counter the psychoactive effects of THC, but more evidence seems to show that medically, CBD is no light weight. It looks to be especially promising for conditions that are difficult to treat such as colitis, chron’s disease, multiple sclerosis and PTSD. Another medical use that is becoming increasingly popular is to help with Dravet’s Syndrome, which is a debilitating form of epilepsy that affects children.

Unlike pharmaceutical treatments for Dravet’s, cannabis has no lethal dose or known serious medical side effects. The fact that this condition affects children as young as a few days old makes it both a prime opportunity for non-psychoactive CBD-rich strains to help improve peoples lives. Our society still has to overcome the stigma of giving children cannabis, or “drugs” to seriously help them out. Hopefully society will overcome this stigmas, and information will be provided with the best marijuana  strains to help with this. The FDA has finally approved a study to examine the effects of CBD on epilepsy, specifically in young children.
So what are the best marijuana strains that generally have high CBD levels? Like all strains, they vary between growers, crops and breeders. So the actual CBD medication levels will vary as well. However, here are some strains that have been actively bred in recent years to have higher CBD levels, so they might be a good place to start. Harlequin, Sour Tsunami and Cannatonic all have high CBD levels. It is also a good idea to talk with your doctor and local dispensary for their specific strains that contain high CBD levels and ask if they have any tests they can show you to back the results.

Tips And Tricks To Grow Marijuana From OG Kush Seeds

OG-Kush-Marijuana-Seeds

The newest trend is to buy Marijuana seeds online, so you can say the world is “growing”. Of course we are here to help you growing your favourite strains and achieving the best results. Today we are going to talk about the often chosen strain, OG Kush. Known for is euphoric high, it is one of the most famous hybrid strains out there. It’s great for everyone, even a little mysterious as it’s calming and sedative, but gives you that euphoric high at the same time.

If you bought OG Kush Marijuana Seed online The Seed Pharm recommends growing indoors for best results, however this strain will also do well in outdoor settings. If growing indoors, its a good idea to use the Screen Of Green (SCROG) or Sea of Green (SOG) methods. These methods will increase your yields as well as bud sizes. Keep in mind that OG can be susceptible to powdering mildew, so its more of a hands on grow as you will have to prune it to improve airflow in the canopy. OG’s buds are big and heavy, so it’s important to have support for them. A hydroponic system works well with indoor grows as it helps to prevent against diseases and keeps the plants immune system healthy and strong.

OG Kush is considered to be on the more difficult side of growing, so probably not recommended for first time growers. Something like Northern Lights is a better choice for the inexperienced grower. You can also buy these Marijuana seeds online with us. It has an industry average flowering time of 2 months, and you will be happy with the moderate yield it produces.

Ideal temperatures for OG are between 18 degrees and 26 degrees Celsius. During flowering it prefers a lower humidity level. Due to its big and dense buds, if the humidity is too high, it makes it susceptible to bud rot. So if you’re growing outdoors, you want to grow in an area with drier climates. If you are a skilled indoor grower, and you apply your grow techniques properly, you will have great results.

Of course with all of nature, everything has a different feeding cycle and preference. What works with one strain, may not be ideal for another. OG Kush gets its big dense buds as a result of heavy feeding with calcium and magnesium. It’s important to make sure your plants are receiving enough of this during flowering so the buds will develop to their best potential. In order to avoid powdery mildew, you can feed the plants with a compost tea to help bolster their immune systems.

Now that you’ve finished your crop, its time to enjoy the balanced high OG is famous for. If you have the nose for it, you will be able to detect it by its pungent and earthy smell. Another sign of fine OG Kush are the resinous crystals found on its buds. You can buy OG Kush Marijuana Seeds online with us. Thank you everyone for reading, hope this was helpful, The Seed Pharm.

How To Grow Marijuana From Our White Widow Seeds

White-Widow-Marijuana-Seeds

You decided it’s time to start growing one of the most famous cannabis strains at home and bought White Widow marijuana seeds online? If so, we are here to help. Today we’re going to give tips on growing the world famous White Widow. In case you are new to smoking or bought marijuana Seeds online for the first time, White Widow is the “strain” in the marijuana world. First developed by Green House seeds in the Netherlands in the early 90’s, it’s a cross between a South Indian indica and a Brazilian sativa landrace strain. Designed to be a high potency strain and easily recognized as it’s covered in resin tipped trichomes. White Widow offers a well balanced high to help relax the body, mind and soul.

White Widow is considered to be on the more difficult side of growing than other cannabis strains. If this is your first time growing, it may be frustrating. TheSeedPharm recommends trying an easier strain to get practice, and then move up to the Widow. It is recommended to grow White Widow indoors over outdoors. It is a fickle strain, and requires more attention to feeding and climate control. Something that is easier to do indoors as you have better control. Your plant will be happier and healthier this way, making you happier in the end as it will produce more of its famous trichomes this way.

White Widow doesn’t require a lot of heat for success. It actually prefers a more mild climate, and ideal temperature ranges are between 21 degrees to 26 degrees Celsius. Good news is the flowering time is shorter than other strains like Sour Diesel. White Widow generally takes 56 to 63 days and should give you a moderate to low yield. Remember, quality doesn’t go hand in hand with quantity. Better the quality, usually means lower the quantity.

TheSeedPharm recommends the popular Screen of Green (SCROG) method for growing White Widow indoors. Its easy to do, first fill your indoor grow space with lots of starts and begin developing a strong healthy canopy. It’s important to prune beneath the screen and remove any unnecessary vegetation during the first week or two of flowering. Make sure you stop pruning after the second week as you don’t want to put too much stress on your plants. You will also want to keep your plants growing strong with a good supply of nitrogen during the vegetative state. One your plant starts to flower, you should flush the soils and prepare the plant for a higher nutrient based formula that contains a higher phosphorous level. We hope you have fun growing, follow the link to buy White Widow marijuana seeds online.

Marijuana effects on body and mind

Marijuana effects on body and mind

Now that it is easy to buy Marijuana Seeds online more and more people are getting interested in the effects it has on the body and mind.
The most psychoactive agent in marijuana is called THC. There are more than 110 cannabinoids present in cannabis, and the effects are largely unknown. It is widely regarded that the most potent psychoactive agent in cannabis is THC.
When cannabis is smoked or inhaled, the bloodstream quickly absorbs the THC, reaching the brain within minutes and seconds, depending on the potency and quality. THC is absorbed slower thru the body when it is eaten through chocolates or brownies. Consuming Marijuana this way has a delaying affect on the body, even up to several hours before the user feels it.

Cannabinoids and THC commonly found in marijuana are very similar to ones the body produces naturally. These natural produced cannabinoids act like neurotransmitters between nerve cells that send chemical messages throughout the nervous system.
These neurotransmitters effect the brain in several different areas like pleasure, time perception, thinking, memory, concentration, movement, and coordination. The receptors that respond to these cannabinoids also respond to THC, which can disrupt and alter or normal daily brain functions. Especially people who suffer from abnormal brain functions benefit from buying Marijuana seeds online.

THC also affects the orbitofrontal cortex and hippocampus – certain areas of the brain that control attention and memory creation. Furthermore, THC disrupts the function of the cerebellum which adversely affects posture, coordination, reaction time and balance. This is what makes it unsafe for an individual using marijuana to operate heavy machinery, perform surgeries, drive a motor vehicle, participate in sports or certain potentially dangerous physical activities.

The main reason THC stimulates is due to the increase in the release of dopamine. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter related to feelings of pleasure and relaxation. The effects of dopamine can be found in other more harmful drugs such as nicotine, heroin and cocaine.  Marijuana also produces sensory perception changes -emotions are more profound, music can be more intense, and  colours may seem brighter.

When cannabis is smoked or eaten, the following effects are possible:
• Increase in appetite
• Nausea – either reduction of it, or an increased feeling of it
• Increased heart rate
• Change in perception – marijuana can distort reality
• Alteration in mood – such as euphoria or others enter a state of relaxation.
• Lower blood pressure.
• Impairment of concentration and memory.
• Reduced coordination
• Increase in appetite.
• More rapid breathing

The Most Popular Cannabis Strains In 2017

The most popular Cannabis Strains in 2017

Marijuana strains are like the fashion industry, their popularity changes all the time. What’s hot now, might not be next year. At The Seed Pharm we decided to make a list of the most popular trending strains for 2017. You’ll see some of your favorites and all time classics as well as some hot new strains. What’s also cool is that different strains are more popular on the west coast compared to the east coast and vice versa.

To start with, it seams that Indicas were the big winners over Sativas this year. 2017 has been a stressful year for everyone from Hurricanes and mass shootings, to bad weather on the west coast and even the Canucks having the worst fan turn outs in 15 years (although that’s probably not that stressful to most). Indicas sedative qualities definitely help as stress relievers.

Don’t forget as well, there are new strains coming to market all the time, so people are constantly researching them to find out more info about the strain. Some of these strains would include Game Changer, Mendo Breath and Purple Trainwreck for instance. Kush strains that are always popular and continued this year included some of The Seed Pharm’s favorites as well, like Blueberry Kush, Bubba Kush, as well as Orange and Lemon Kush (which has an amazing taste and aroma).

Some strains that we found consistent throughout the country this year are Bubba Kush, Sour Diesel, AK-47, OG Kush and Platinum OG (sounds like a fine scotch now), Blueberry and Strawberry Cheesecake, Girl Scout Cookies and last but not least Green Crack.

West Coast strains that have continued to thrive are Jack Herer, DJ Short Blueberry (especially in BC, this potent Indica is my current favorite to smoke as well), and Romulan has been doing very good in 2017 as well.

On the East Coast, and especially Toronto – AK-47 flies off the shelves. Being a sativa hybrid, it leaves you physically relaxed and keeps your mind alert and sharp. It’s earthly aromas and taste make it popular everywhere. Dwarf Lowflyer is popular out east due to their climate and its short grow time.

And of course we can’t forget central Canada, where Manitoba Poison does extremely well. And as you might have guessed, does really well in Manitoba. It’s another hybrid strain that is gaining in popularity every year.

Of course we can’t give a breakdown for every strain on the market, but we hope this helps you out. Please send The Seed Pharm some of your favorite strains and why you love them. We’ll try and hook a few of you up with free seeds.

Why Dutch Treat is a good indoor strain

Why Dutch Treat is a good indoor strain

The world is growing folks, and we here at the Seed Pharm love that. Today we’re going to talk about one of our local strains, Dutch Treat. And no, we’re not based in Amsterdam as the name sounds, we’re based in the bud capital of Canada, BC. Dutch Treat is a hybrid strain, and leans more on the indica side of the strains. You can always tell Dutch Treat by it’s sweet piney smell and well balanced high. Being a more dominant indica strain, you’ll still be happy the euphoric high you get.

Being developed in BC, and considering we like to chill out here on the west coast, Dutch Treat is an easier strain to grow. We wanted a marijuana that is easy to grow, produces an amazing yield, and can be grown in 40 – 56 days. Dutch Treat is meant for indoor growing, and can use either a hydroponic or soil set up. It has a unique and forgiving bud structure, which makes it a good strain to try for inexperienced growers.

Ideal temperatures should be in the 21 to 26 degrees Celsius range. You will want to keep your humidity and air flow down to ensure the quality of your buds. Indoor growing is ideal for Dutch Treat, as it will help to bring out its amazing aroma and will protect its terpenes. You will also want to keep the lower half of the plant clear so the energy and nutrients reach where they need to be. You will also be pleased with the feeding of this strain, as just standard nutrients will do for this easy maintenance plant.

We hope this was helpful, and Seed Pharm wish you the best with your next Dutch Treat grow.

Tips On How To Grow Sour Diesel From Canadian Marijuana Seeds

Pineapple-Express-Marijuana-Seeds

It’s easy to buy marijuana seeds online, but have you tried growing Canadian marijuana seeds before but struggled? If so you’re not alone. Not all strains are as easy to grow as others. Today we are going to explore the popular strain Sour Diesel. We will give some background on the plant and some tips to help bring you the best crop possible.

Sour Diesel is a hybrid strain, bred from Super Skunk and Chemdawg 91. It is a sativa-dominant strain. Lots of people from the East Coast buy marijuana seeds online so it is a very popular strain there, it’s recognizable by its unique pungent diesel aroma and for its energizing qualities. It’s hard to find a smoker than hasn’t experienced Sour Diesel, making it among the most celebrated strains of all time.

As mentioned, Sour Diesel is a sativa-dominant strain, which tends to grow lankier and taller than other strains. It can be a bit more difficult to manage than other plants, as its know to stretch several times when flowering. For a successful grow, you must stay on top of it by pruning, training and topping to keep this plant from growing out of control. If you are doing an indoor grow, its a good idea to use soil which can help to steady the growth of this great Canadian marijuana seed.

Being one of the larger cannabis plants, Sour Diesel requires more feeding than others do. This plant grows vigorously and feeds heavily through the flowering stage. This extended feeding is worth it, as it allows its buds to maximize their potential. It’s recommended to feed the plants with a finishing nutrient to allow its sativa based buds dense up before their final flush.

Sour Diesel prefers to grow in a mild to warm climate with ideal temperatures between 20 degrees to 29 degrees Celsius. Normal flowering time is 70 to 77 days. You should get a moderate bud yield from your crop, if you can control the stretching and feeding of this sativa, you will receive bigger yields.

This is a versatile Canadian marijuana seed strain and can grow indoor and outdoors. Due to the size and space required for Sour Diesel, its a good choice for outdoor grows, or indoor grows in a warehouse or greenhouse that allows room for it to stretch. Sorry, this one isn’t easy to grow in small, condensed places. You want to make sure your climate stays constant as this plant is a late finisher. If you’re growing outdoors, make sure you will still have warm temperatures into October and November. Click here to get to buy marijuana seeds online.

Cannabis plants spotted growing at Vancouver City Hall

The Seed Pharm Marijuana Seeds For Sale

As of Monday morning (April 24), the plants stood roughly 20 centimetres high. They were found in grey planters near the centre of the garden.

Young contacted UBC botany professor Jonathan Page to confirm that the plants were indeed cannabis, though it’s uncertain whether they were hemp—the version of the plant often used in textiles and a host of other applications—or the flower-bearing version of the plant known as marijuana, which contains higher levels of THC, the cannabinoid responsible for the high one feels after consumption.

On April 24, Ian Young photographed cannabis plants growing in this planter at the Vancouver City Hall community garden. When the Straight went to the garden to confirm that the plants were there, they had already been removed.
AMANDA SIEBERT

Despite the perceived grey area around laws in Vancouver, growing cannabis outside of Canada’s federally licensed program is still illegal and considered so by the Vancouver Police Department.

City staff were notified of the plants. When the Straight visited the garden this afternoon, no cannabis could be seen in the grey planters indicated in Young’s photographs.

Though no one is sure where the plants came from, the Straight called cannabis activist Dana Larsen, whose OverGrow Canada campaign has seen approximately five million cannabis seeds mailed across the country and given away at 4/20 rallies to those interested in participating.

The campaign calls on “all freedom-loving Canadians to grow a cannabis victory garden” and, in instructions posted on OverGrow Canada’s website, Larsen suggests that these seeds be planted “at City Hall, in front of the local police station, in storefront planters, and other highly visible places.”

“I hope [the plants] are from our campaign, but I know we’re not the only ones with the same idea,” Larsen told the Straight by phone this afternoon. “Regardless, if they’re my seeds or someone else’s, I hope that it keeps happening.”

He added that it’s unfortunate to see the effort spent to remove them so quickly, but said he was glad to hear that the plants got some attention.

For Larsen, the initiative to see cannabis grown in outdoor gardens and public spaces is all part of his goal to normalize the plant.

“I want to live in a country where you see cannabis growing in somebody’s front yard, and it’s not a big deal,” he said.

Larsen acknowledged concerns from parents and politicians about plants growing in areas where children play, but debunked the idea that cannabis plants can be harmful.

“People always worry about playgrounds and schools, but the truth is cannabis is fine for a playground—there’s no harm from it growing as a plant, and there are far more toxic, dangerous plants at elementary schools around the country than anything cannabis ever could be,” Larsen said. “I don’t see any harm in cannabis plants growing in places where any other plants can grow.”

This year’s OverGrow Canada campaign has come to a close, but Larsen said anyone interested in receiving seeds as part of the 2018 campaign can pre-register now.

Why AK-47 is a good seed for first time “pharmers”

Jack-Herer-Marijuana-Seeds

Ever wanted to try your hands with AK-47? No not the famous Russian weapon, the even more famous cannabis strain AK-47. Originally developed by Serious Seeds in 1992, and loved by many for delivering its powerful high ever since. AK-47 is a an award winning hybrid strain that has also been used by many great breeders to develop other popular strains in today’s marketplace.

AK-47 thrives best in indoor grow space over outdoor ones. It flowers fairly quickly and delivers tremendous yields. Average flowering time is 7 to 8 weeks. The Seed Pharm would consider AK to be on moderate side of growing difficulties, so it is a good strain for most people to try. It’s known for its big buds and its sweet and pungent aroma.

AK-47 likes a mild and dry climate, and grown indoors allows you to regulate the humidity. Ideal temperatures are between 20 degrees to 26 degrees Celsius. Because of its big and beautiful dense buds, AK-47 is prone to bud rot. So you will want to monitor this indoors, and conversely, this makes it a challenge trying to grow it outdoors. Also, in order to get those big sexy buds, you have to feed this plant. AK-47 requires a lot of feeding during flowering. You will want to keep your phosphorus levels high while you monitor bud development. This will give you enough time to flush your plants prior to harvest.

You will want to use an organic soil or hydroponic mediums to the get the best result when growing indoors. The Seed Pharm recommends using the Sea of Green (SOG) method with this strain. You will create an even canopy by pruning and topping your AK plants, and at the same time training them through trellising. Remember that AK-47 is known for its pungent aroma, so have a good air filtration system and keep an eye on it so it runs effectively. As a result, if you’re growing “under the radar’, this may be a difficult strain to pull off. Or at least take the necessary precautions, so you wont draw attention to your grow.

Best Ways To Germinate Your Seeds

The Seed Pharm Marijuana Seeds For Sale Germination

Here is an easy to follow a 4 step guide to germinating your Cannabis seeds:

Step 1 – Setting Up:

  • First you will need any 2 traditional kitchen plate. Smaller sized ones work best. Line one of the plates with a few layers of wet tissue and drain any excess water from the plate. You want moisture, not a flood. Then place your cannabis seeds on top of the tissue, giving each seed as much space as possible (similar to baking cookies on a tray). Then, place another few layers of moist tissue on top of the seeds, again moisture is the key, not a flood and allow any excess water to run off. Finally you want to create a dark and moist environment for germination, so cover the first plate with the second plate, upside down, to form a clam like shell shape.

Step 2 -Germination:

  • Take your claim like plates and place them somewhere warm (ideally around 21ºC) and out of direct light. Check on them daily and make sure the tissues having dried out. Use a spray bottle if you have to touch up the tissues to maintain moisture. Usually within 24 to 72 hours, your seeds should start to open up exposing a small root, which is known as your taproot. Don’t give up if your root hasn’t shot thru yet, some seeds can take up to 10 days to germinate. Once the first few millimeters of root have emerged from your germinated seed, your seeds should be very, very carefully transferred to a small container of your growing medium (rockwool, coco-fibre or organic soil).

Step 3 – Potting:

  • You will want to plant your germinated cannabis seed approx. 1.2 – 2.5cm below your grow mediums surface. You want to make a little hole for your seed and place the cannabis seed root down into the hole. Then cover the hole with a minimal amount of grow medium, enough to block out the light, but not too much to stunt the seedlings growth from pushing upwards. You should start to notice your Cannabis seedlings poking through the surface within 72 hours after being planted.

Step 4 – The Seedling:

  • Newly sprouted seedlings should be exposed to bright light from the time they emerge. The seedlings are quite delicate in the beginning, so extra care should be given for the first 2 weeks. Seedlings intended for outdoor growing should be acclimatized to direct sunlight to simulate their environment. Pace them on a windowsill inside the house to increase their exposure to direct sunlight for an hour or two per day. Seedlings intended for indoor grows may emerge into an artificially lit environment. If you are using an HID lighting system, remember that seedlings should be kept a min distance of 50 to 80cm from the bulb. Seedlings growing under the use of fluorescent lights, can be kept a normal distance from the tube/bulb.  Buy your Marijuana seeds from the seed pharm today!

Government Agency Asks If You Want Some Really Good Stuff

The Seed Pharm Marijuana Seeds For Sale Planting

When Conservative Premier Howard Ferguson founded the Liquor Control Board of Ontario in 1927, the new Crown corporation was by no means a sophisticated purveyor of wines and spirits.

Now Liberal Premier Kathleen Wynne plans to sell recreational cannabis through the same agency.

The federal government’s plan is that beginning on July 1, 2018, adults will be allowed to purchase fresh and dried cannabis, cannabis oils and seeds and plants for cultivation. Provincial governments will set up their own regulatory systems and offer the best marijuana strains for sale.

The original purpose of the LCBO was to limit and control a substance that, only a few years previously, the majority of Canadians had believed was harmful and even dangerous. It is interesting how much this perception has changed having in mind we can now buy marijuana seeds online and grow our own Canadian seeds cannabis.

Since those early days, the provincial liquor monopoly — like others across Canada — has become a discriminating buyer and retailer of the world’s finest wines and spirits.

Trusted dealer

As the government moves into the role once performed by those private enterprise professionals commonly called drug dealers and, the question is whether the LCBO can cultivate the same kind of sophistication and trust it has developed as a seller of wine and offer the best marijuana strains for sale.

Just as in the post-Prohibition 1920s when alcohol became legal again, Canadians are far from unanimous that pot should be legalized at all.

Provincial governments will again be under political pressure, at least at the beginning, to act as if they are performing a necessary evil, taking legal control of a substances like Canadian marijuana seeds that has been in the hands of criminals.

Pot Shop

The experts in offering best marijuana strains for sale are people who have been ‘basically breaking the law,’ says Dan Malleck of Brock University. (David Horemans/CBC)

But as experts I spoke to say, to attract the current recreational users of cannabis to buy marijuana seeds online and thus wipe out the illegal trade, the government agency will have to develop a level of marketing savvy not unlike what they have established in alcohol distribution.

An accredited sommelier, Lori Davis worked for the LCBO for 20 years and is just one example of the agency’s expertise.

“My background was from the Maritimes, and my mom and dad drank Baby Duck,” she exclaims with mock horror, recalling the Sunday dinner tipple.

Cannabis pairings?

Despite her unrefined oenological beginnings, with the support of the Crown corporation and considerable outside training, Davis became a leading taster.

“Let’s talk about Niagara on the Bench,” she says, describing a tasting session comparing nearby Ontario wine areas. “Why that would be different from Twenty Miles?”

Cannabis educator Alex Revich says the pot business may eventually get around to passing on cultural values such as terroirs and cannabis pairings (“Strains to pair with certain music?”), but some of the others skills Davis describes at the LCBO will be urgently needed for managing recreational marijuana.

LCBO Pairings from website

Online recipes and food pairings are among the ways the LCBO has moved far beyond selling liquor in brown paper bags. Will pairings for Canadian seeds cannabis be next? (LCBO)

Revich began learning about cannabis at the Canadian company MedReleaf in the early days of legalized medical marijuana. He’s one of a rare breed, someone willing to talk about both medical and recreational marijuana who didn’t learn his skills in the black market.

People will have to learn things about the recreational market that are quite different from the medical side, he says.

For instance, the variety of pot you want for a dance party will be different from the kind you might take for bowel relief.

An acquired taste

The method of consumption could be different as well, he says. Medical cannabis for nausea or pain is taken as an anal suppository. That would be an acquired taste amongst the youthful party crowd.

Strains of pot contain varying amounts of complex organic molecules, some responsible for making the user feel high and some that relax them. Especially when advising new legal users, Crown corporation employees will have to know the difference. Even more if the users buy marijuana seeds online.

Cannabis sativa imparts euphoria that may not be desirable for pain relief, but it can also lead to anxiety in some people, says Revich. The most common street drugs are strains of Cannabis indica called kush, that he says have a relaxing effect. Here at The Seed Pharm you can buy these canadian marijuana seeds: OG Kush Marijuana Seeds, Bubba Kush Marijuana Seeds, Purple Kush Marijuana Seeds

The fragrance of the smoke, or as non-users might say, the horrible stink, also varies with strain depending on the content of organic compounds called terpenes, but Revich says even for recreational users, smoking is the worst way to consume the drug. He is sure government retailers will soon include other methods such as vaping where dosages can be accurately controlled.

LCBO Lab accreditation

The LCBO has a huge testing laboratory that looks for pesticides and other chemicals in samples of the thousands of wines it sells, and it does contract work for others. (LCBO)

When it comes to measuring impurities, strength and quality, the laboratories of the LCBO make it a powerhouse in the global industry says Niagara College winemaking teacher Gavin Robertson. But compared to measuring a single active ingredient, alcohol, pot chemistry will be far more complicated.

The LCBO has much to learn, says Dan Malleck, an internationally recognized expert in drug and alcohol policy at Brock University and author of the books When Good Drugs Go Bad and Try to Control Yourself.

Just the buzz

He says that while people enjoy wine, beer and spirits for their bouquet and flavour, consuming recreational pot from Canadian marijuana seeds is exclusively about the effect, something LCBO employees will have to understand.

Just as sommeliers must drink wine and, as Lori Davis points out, know the taste of various cigars, being a knowledgeable consumer of pot may be a job requirement in the new LCBO division.

“The buzz is what people who are smoking it recreationally are interested in,” says Malleck. “I don’t know any people who just smoke cannabis because they like the taste.”

That could change as the marijuana equivalent of Baby Duck drinkers move on to the pot equivalent of a Riesling from the Niagara Bench. If so, Malleck says, that is for the distant future.

Right now it is crucial for the LCBO to gather enough expertise not just to sell to the unsophisticated new smoker, but to win over users who now buy from dealers or storefront shops.

Since recreational pot is illegal, says Malleck, by definition almost all the expertise in recreational pot is in the illegal market.

“Part of it comes down to whether there will be the political will to bring into the fold people who have been basically breaking the law,” says Malleck.

How To Preserve Your Canadian Marijuana Seeds

TheSeedPharm-Cannabis-Seeds-For-Sale

We are often asked “what’s the best way to store my Canadian marijuana seeds?”. So we decided to set up some helpful guidelines. Canadian marijuana seeds should be kept in a dry and cool place. Rapid changes in temperature and air humidity are detrimental to cannabis seeds. We find the best and easiest way to preserve your Canadian marijuana seeds is to place them in an airtight plastic container, and keep them in a dark dry room (a closest or cupboard are good choices).

Something to keep in mind, is that Canada marijuana seeds are living organisms. During storage, they are in a state of rest. So picture yourself resting – in the dark, in a dry place without fluctuation of light and humidity. Once a Canada marijuana seed comes into contact with humidity, all the nutritional substances they contain get released and this starts the germination process. For longer preservation periods, ideal circumstances are to have humidity under 9%. It’s also a good idea to vacuum seal your seed package for extended storage periods.

It’s also best to keep your Canada marijuana seeds in a consistent temperature. Whether you have the in a garage, fridge or freezer, you want to leave them in that same place until you are ready to use your seeds to grow Canadian seeds cannabis. Once you are ready to grow, take your seeds out and let them acclimatize to room temperature. If you take your seeds in and out of the refrigerator for instance, this can cause temperature oscillations that can damage the seeds. Of course, we do not want you to damage you seeds, but to harvest nice big buds from your Canadian seeds cannabis.

Light is another danger to the storage of your seeds. Like humidity, light can cause germination. Exposing your seeds to as minimal light as possible, will help to maintain optimal sprouting and seed duration.

Why Do Growers Dry & Cure Buds After Harvest?

Drying and Curing Marijuana

Why Do Growers Dry & Cure Buds After Harvest?

Here’s what drying and curing Canadian seeds cannabis properly does for you…

Breaks down chlorophyll and dramatically improves taste / smoothness of buds

Gets rid of the unpleasant “fresh hay” or “cut grass” smell which is common on newly harvested buds

Brings out the subtle flavors and unique smell of your Canadian seeds cannabis strain

Reduces “harshness” in buds; you’re less likely to start coughing or get a headache

Buds are less likely to cause anxiety, racing thoughts, or paranoia

Reduces the chance of mold or bacteria growing on your buds

Curing seems to actually increase potency! Read on to learn more…

In most cases, a proper cure will change the subjective effects of buds. There is something that happens during a slow curing process which changes the exact composition of cannabinoids and terpenoids. This changes how the buds of your Canadian marijuana seeds make you feel.

Try smoking buds directly off the Canadian marijuana seeds plant vs smoking those same buds after they’ve been dried/cured. The best way to understand the difference is to try it for yourself! 😉

Many growers feel that drying buds slowly and proper curing will actually make buds feel more potent up to a point. Growers also report that properly cured Canada seeds cannabis are much more pleasant to smoke, vaporize, or turn into edibles. This is likely due to how cannabinoids and terpenoids are altered during the curing process.

What Do Canadian Marijuana Seeds Need to Germinate?

What Do Canadian Marijuana Seeds Need to Germinate?

Canadian marijuana seeds need the following to get the best germination rates:

Moisture – Keep things moist but not soaking (you can soak hard Canada marijuana seeds for up to 24-32 hours, but do not leave seeds soaking in water for longer than that).

Peace – Canada marijuana seeds need to be left alone while you’re waiting for the taproot to show up.

Warmth – Keep things warm to get the best germination rates, but not too hot! Think springtime. Seeds can definitely germinate in cooler temps, but germination tends to take longer when it’s cool.

Gentle – Be careful when checking seeds, and treat them gently when you have to move them. Avoid touching their white root if possible; the taproot is very fragile and easily snaps off!

Plant Root Down – When planting germinated seeds, point the white root downwards into the growing medium to prevent the seedling from having to reorient itself.

Plant Knuckle Deep – When planting germinated Canada marijuana seeds, they don’t have to be placed too far under in the growing medium, about a half inch to an inch (1.3 cm – 2.5 cm) down from the surface of the medium should be enough.

How To Grow Marijuana From Seeds

Where Can I Buy Marijuana Seeds

1. Let the seeds soak in water that is 65°F (18°C)  until they split open and roots appear
When seeds achieve a nice moistness level, they will enlarge and split open. A single root will grow downward with gravity out of that split. The root will always grow down no matter what and the stem will always grow up.

Soak marijuana seeds in water

Soak your seeds in water

Placing your seeds in water ensures that they have achieved the proper moisture level for the process of germination to begin. The seeds will not take on excess water and drown until about 2 weeks after they have cracked open (you will have already transplanted them into soil by then).

When you fill your glass with water, simply put it in the living room so that it shifts to the temperature of the environment. Tap water is fine, but don’t give the seeds any extra nutrients because they already have everything they need. The seeds will crack open in between 2 and 7 days. Make sure to replenish the water in the glass every other day. Start transplanting when the roots reach  0.1 to 0.2 inches (3 to 5 mm) in length. 2. Place your seeds in a ½-inch hole in small pots with seedling soil
The nutrient level of the seeds is already adequate, so you should use a soil with fewer nutrients to start. Soil made specifically for seedlings and clones that has low quantities of nutrients is ideal. Plants are very susceptible to nutrient burn at this stage if you give them too many nutrients.

Plant cannabis seeds in soil

Plant your seeds in soil

The pots should be filled halfway with the seedling soil. To make the half-inch hole, use your finger tip or a pen. Each seed should have its own pot. Since the roots will always grow down, you don’t have to worry how you place the seeds in the soil.

Place the seed in the hole, and cover it up with the soil. When you spray the soil with water, it will tamp down on its own. Avoid pressing the soil. The germination process will continue until the plant starts to surface within a week. The taproot will produce other root offshoots so that the system is strong.

3. Use a plant sprayer to moisten the soil
Water is responsible for both life and germination, making it the most vital component early on. It is extremely important that you give the plants plenty of water and keep the soil moistened.

Plants that don’t receive enough water will compensate by not growing to full capacity. This is largely to increase the plants’ chances of survival. Of course, too much water can cause the plants to lose out on valuable oxygen. Leaves will start to wither and the marijuana plant and growth medium will become more susceptible to diseases and bacteria.

The soil needs to stay adequately moist (not too dry and not over-soaked). The seedling won’t use much water, but a lot of the water evaporates fast. This is the major reason why seedlings should never go on a windowsill or near a heater. Spraying the plants 1 or 2 times throughout the day should be plenty.

4. Put pots 2 inches below CFL tube
Other than water, light is another vital component for the plant’s growth. Light and water help convert carbon dioxide into oxygen and glucose—necessary resources for plant growth. This is referred to as photosynthesis.

When plants don’t receive adequate light, they will form fewer side branches and will elongate abnormally. This stretching helps marijuana plants grow taller to grab enough light in nature. Plants that receive adequate light will grow wider (not taller) and produce a flurry of side branches with a ton of buds. Light should be kept on 24 hours per day and the room should have a consistent temperature of around 72° Fahrenheit.

The pots should be placed under a cool white CFL light at a distance of 2 inches. These tubes don’t create that much heat, they’re energy efficient, and they use the ideal light spectrum for seedlings. Seedlings require about 3 to 5 watts each. When the plants surface after 5 to 10 days, they will need all the light they can get to grow optimally.

5. Keep the environment optimized
Creating the ideal climate is also important for germinating the marijuana seeds under ideal conditions. CFL tubes don’t produce that much heat, but they will keep the soil warm. You can keep the distance between the plants and the bulbs to a minimum, but if the temperature exceeds 77° F, then you should move them farther apart or cool down the area.

Keep the marijuana grow environment optimized

Keep the grow environment optimized

Soil moisture is important to ensure that the seed disposes of the water. Avoid feeding the seeds until the initial leaves make it through the soil. This happens after about 5 to 8 days. Be patient and just check the moisture level of your soil without feeding any nutrients.

6. First signs of the seedlings
As soon as the seedlings pop their heads out of the soil, it’s vital to inspect the distance between the plant and the light. Adjust the lights if the temperature goes past 72° Fahrenheit or the leaves start receiving excessive light. The soil also needs to stay moist. The leaves on the plants can absorb water, so continue spraying them 2 times per day.

Cannabis seedling sprouting

Seedling sprouting

Again, this early stage in life makes the plants susceptible to damage from negative conditions. Don’t use a lot of nutrients and make sure the lights stay on 24 hours to produce a reliable climate. Avoid touching the plants and do not take away the seed skins from the leaves

The plants need to grow and develop sturdy root systems. Big green leaves are capable of absorbing ample light and converting it into energy. Healthy root systems allow plants to take in plenty of water and nutrients. The plant is just starting to form the base for the remainder of its life, so it’s important that they receive proper, diligent care.

7. First two internodes
When the initial internodes start to form, you can feed your plant with root-stimulating foliar nutrients. Start the plants off with a small dose as the developing roots can’t withstand higher concentrations just yet.

Foliage growth cannabis plant

Foliage growth plant

The plants will start to grow rapidly (about 0.5 inches per day). Inspect your plants each day for signs of nutrient surplus (e.g. burned leaf tips).

8. Transplant into bigger pots when roots grow out of the bottom
The roots will start to grow out of the bottom of your smaller pot at which point it’s time to transplant. The plant will become rootbound and stop growing if you do not transplant.

Transplanting cannabis

Transplanting

To recognize the roots, look for white tips poking out of the bottom. Check for the roots each day and start giving your plants grow stimulator, which is high in nitrogen. More about nutrients on this link.

9. Grow you plants outdoors or under MH/HPS lights
If everything went as planned, then you have strong, healthy plants that will eventually produce high yields. A good start in life means that the plants will be less susceptible to bacteria, diseasespests, and the effects of harsh weather extremes. Plants that are healthy can better absorb water and nutrients and will develop a faster metabolism for better yields. If you email me a photo of your seedlings, I will publish them on my site.

Cannabis growing outdoors

Growing outdoors

These plants can now grow outdoors and will thrive in a wind-free location that gets a lot of sun. The plants will also do better in a big container (15 gallons) on a stool. This keeps away any interference from animals like rabbits or snails.
