So after harvest and curing this bud is choice. Grew two plants and the buds were so different. One had light blueish green buds that were plump with a fruity taste and smell. The other had buds that were real dark green with a hint of blue with bright red hairs. Completely caked with resin. The longer they cure the better they smell and taste. This is my new go to bud.

Critical Purple is a cross of Critical and Purple Kush. Critical is known for packing a lot of flower onto a modest plant, and Purple Kush for the colour and a sweet, grapey smell. The label rates the cross indica-dominant with THC at 27%.
It is sold as feminized photoperiod seed, so the plant blooms after you switch the light to 12/12.
Colour and smell
Many plants start to show purple in the sugar leaves and calyxes a few weeks into bloom, and the colour deepens if nights run cooler than days. Not every phenotype colours up the same way; some stay mostly green with purple tips. The smell is grape and berry with an earthy base. Grind a cured bud and it turns sharper and more pungent than the jar suggests.

How to grow Critical Purple
Critical Purple grows short, wide and heavy. Expect broad leaves, tight spacing between the nodes and fat colas that stack up along each branch. One topping and some tie-downs give you an even canopy of tops without much stretch to manage.
The weight is where the work is. Dense indica buds hold moisture, so thin the lower growth before flowering, keep a fan running across the tops and hold humidity down in the last weeks. Stake or net the branches before they bend.
Flowering takes 9-10 weeks, and outdoor yield on the label is 700 g per plant. In Canada, a 9-10 week bloom ripens in early to mid October, so pick a sunny, sheltered spot and watch the colas closely if the autumn turns wet.
