So after harvest and curing this bud is choice. Grew two plants and the buds were so different. One had light blueish green buds that were plump with a fruity taste and smell. The other had buds that were real dark green with a hint of blue with bright red hairs. Completely caked with resin. The longer they cure the better they smell and taste. This is my new go to bud.

Black Cherry Soda takes both halves of its name from the plant. The colour comes first: as flowering goes on, the leaves and calyxes darken from green through purple to something close to black, set off by pale hairs and a heavy dusting of resin. Then the smell, which growers compare to cherry soda: sweet dark fruit with a sharp, fizzy edge and some earth underneath.
It is offered here as feminized photoperiod seed, with THC listed at 23%.
Bringing out the colour
How dark a plant turns depends first on its genetics and then on temperature. Cooler nights in the last few weeks of bloom help the purple come through. Indoors, let the room drop a few degrees when the lights go off late in flower; outdoors, the first cool autumn nights do the job for you. Do not chill the plants hard to force it. Cold roots slow ripening and cost you weight.
Outdoor timing
A 7-9 week bloom is a good fit for Canadian gardens. Plants that start flowering as the days shorten in August usually ripen from late September into early October, ahead of the worst of the autumn rain in most regions. A full-season garden plant can reach 550 g.

How to grow Black Cherry Soda
This is a straightforward plant to run. Top it once in veg, spread the branches and switch to 12/12 when the canopy is roughly two-thirds of the height you can afford. The buds form tight and resinous, so strip some interior leaves before flowering and keep air moving across the canopy.
Flowering takes 7-9 weeks, quicker than many strains with this much colour. Feed steadily through mid-flower and taper off near the end; a plant that fades naturally shows its darkest shades.
