About Five Alive
Three parents went into this one —Grape Pie x Bubblegum x Orange Juice, and all three show up in the jar. The dominant note reads as lemon grapefruit with a grape sweetness behind it, tart at the front and candied on the finish. It is a genuinely fruity strain rather than a fuel or gas profile, and the smoke stays smooth from grind to ash.
Five Alive tests around 26% THC with 0.8% CBD and leans hard sativa at 85% sativa to 15% indica. The effect comes on quickly and runs cerebral and uplifting; the small indica share keeps the edges rounded rather than jittery. Many growers report it suits focused, creative work, the kind of high where you look up and an hour has gone missing.
Growing Five Alive Feminized Seeds
As a photoperiod feminized line, Five Alive stays in vegetative growth until you drop the lights to 12/12. That switch is your lever. Veg it for four weeks for a compact plant, or run it out to eight and build a much larger frame before you flip, the final size is a decision you make, not something the seed decides for you.
This one repays training. It handles high-stress techniques well, so topping and repeated LST are both on the table, and Screen of Green is the standout method here. Running a screen or trellis forces the plant to grow horizontally and turns a few dominant colas into a flat canopy of even bud sites. Done properly on a sativa-leaning plant like this, SCROG is the single biggest yield multiplier available.
Watch humidity. The buds are elongated, cone-shaped and coated in sticky resin, and that resin plus a dense screen canopy is exactly the environment mould and mildew look for. Keep air moving under the screen and defoliate enough to see light on the lower stems.
What to Expect
Indoors Five Alive settles at a medium 47 to 59 inches, which fits most tents comfortably once you account for the screen. The plants are tall and slim by nature with plenty of internodal stretch after the flip, so leave headroom.
Yield, with a screen and a decent veg, lands around 550 to 600 grams per square metre. Total cycle time is longer than an auto because you control the veg length, but that is the trade: more time in, more return per plant.
Difficulty is beginner-friendly. It asks little beyond steady humidity control and rewards anyone willing to learn training techniques on it.
