Blue Dream earned its reputation in California, where growers liked that it was easy to keep in good shape and gave big harvests. It is Blueberry crossed with Haze. Blueberry contributes the berry sweetness, blue and purple tints in cool weather and some indica density. Haze contributes the vigour, the stretch and a gentle spice.
Aroma and flavour
Ripe Blue Dream smells of fresh blueberries with something sweet like vanilla under it, and an earthy, herbal note from the Haze side. The cured flower tastes the way it smells: berry first, then a soft spice. It is a strain people recognise from the jar.

How to grow Blue Dream
Blue Dream is vigorous and fairly forgiving, which is part of why it spread so far. Give it room to stretch: the plant can double its height after the flip to 12/12, so switch earlier than you would for an indica.
Top it and spread the branches under a screen. The colas get long and heavy, and a flat canopy keeps light on all of them. It drinks a lot in mid-flower but does not like heavy nitrogen late, so ease off the grow nutrients once buds form. Keep humidity down in the last weeks, since long colas hold moisture.
Flowering takes 9 to 10 weeks. Outdoors, a plant in full sun gives about 500 g, and the Haze side means a finish in October, so in most of Canada it belongs in a greenhouse or indoors. More detail is in our Blue Dream grow guide.
