A Pacific Northwest classic
Northern Lights was developed from Afghani and Thai stock, first in the US Pacific Northwest and later in the Netherlands, where it became one of the most influential indoor strains ever released. Countless modern hybrids, from Super Silver Haze to many autoflowers, have Northern Lights somewhere in their family tree.
The aroma is sweet and earthy with a pine edge and a little spice, simple and clean rather than loud.
Why indoor growers rely on it
At 90% indica, the plant grows short and even, with broad leaves, tight internodes and dense, resin-heavy flowers. It does not stretch much after the flip, and plants from the same pack look alike, which is exactly what a sea of green needs: many small plants, flipped early, each finishing one fat cola at the same height.
It is also a forgiving plant. Northern Lights tolerates the feeding and watering mistakes of a first grow and has a reputation for shrugging off common pests and mould better than most.

How to grow Northern Lights
These are feminized photoperiod seeds. Veg under 18 hours of light; for a sea of green, flip to 12/12 while the plants are small, and for a single plant, top it once and fill a screen before switching.
Feed at moderate strength and keep the humidity down late in flower, since dense indica buds hold moisture. Outdoors, its compact size makes it easy to keep below a fence line, and a greenhouse helps in the wetter regions.
