Hindu Kush is named for the mountain range it comes from, along the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Cannabis has been grown there for hashish for a very long time, and that history shaped the plant: short, sturdy, quick to finish before the mountain winter, and covered in resin. The strain label lists it as a 100% indica landrace with THC at 18%.
The pack is regular seed, giving both males and females. For a landrace that is often the point: it is a breeding line as much as a grow.
What the plant looks like
Expect wide, dark green leaves, thick stems and short spaces between the nodes. The plant stays compact and builds fat, tight buds that frost over early. The smell is earthy and woody, with sandalwood, pine and a sweet hash note that gets stronger as the flowers ripen.
Using a regular landrace pack
Let the seedlings grow on until they show their sex. Males give themselves away with little balls of pollen at the nodes, females with white hairs. Take the males out early unless you want pollen. Many breeders keep a good Hindu Kush male because the line passes on short stature, resin and a fast finish to almost anything it is crossed with.

How to grow Hindu Kush
Hindu Kush is forgiving. It does not stretch much after the switch to 12/12, so a simple topping and a flat canopy is all the training it needs. Flowering is fast, 6-8 weeks. Watch humidity in the final weeks, since mountain indicas evolved in dry air and their dense buds do not like damp.
Outdoors that quick finish is a real advantage in a short northern season. A full-season plant can reach 700 g.

From $39Hindu Kush questions
Where does Hindu Kush come from?
From the Hindu Kush mountains on the Afghanistan and Pakistan border. It is a landrace that grew there for hashish production.
How fast does Hindu Kush flower?
6-8 weeks, according to the strain label, which is among the quickest finishes for a photoperiod plant.
Are Hindu Kush regular seeds good for breeding?
Yes. Males pass on short stature, resin and a fast finish, which is why the line sits behind so many indica hybrids.
