Durban Poison Autoflower Seeds

Durban Poison Auto keeps the South African landrace character that made Durban Poison famous: a sweet anise smell over pine and earth, and fat, sticky trichome heads. Ruderalis bred into the line makes it flower on its own, so the plant runs on a fixed timeline with no light change to plan.

Durban Poison is a landrace from the coast around Durban in South Africa, a pure sativa line that was grown there long before it reached Western seed catalogues. Growers know it for two things: a sweet, anise-like smell that sits on top of pine and earth, and an unusually heavy coat of resin for a sativa.

This listing is the autoflower version. The strain label lists the genetics as a South African landrace at 100% sativa; the autoflowering habit comes from ruderalis bred into the line. THC is listed at 23%, with low CBD.

What the plant looks like

Expect narrow leaves, a tall central stem and side branches that reach out rather than bunch up. Buds form as long spears rather than round nuggets, and they frost over early. The label flavour notes are earthy, pine and spicy, and the spice is that anise sweetness in the cured flower.

Two harvests in a Canadian summer

Because it flowers on age rather than day length, Durban Poison Auto suits short northern seasons. Sow after the last frost and it finishes well before autumn rain. In southern Ontario or the BC coast, a second sowing in early summer can finish before the weather turns.

How to grow Durban Poison Auto

An autoflower has no time to recover from mistakes, so set it up right on day one. Sow straight into the final container, keep the lights on the same schedule from seed to harvest, and skip topping. Bending the main stem and tying it out in the first few weeks opens the plant up so the side branches get light.

The label rates it easy. Feed lightly early on; sativa autos rarely need heavy nutrients. Flowering time on the label is 8-9 weeks, and the yield is listed at 300 g/m2 indoors and 400 g per plant outdoors.
