Purple Thai crossed with Haze gives you a 70% sativa, 30% indica plant that has stayed in demand for decades on flavour alone. THC sits around 17%, climbing towards 20% when the grow is dialled in, and CBD stays low.

The aroma announces itself early. Plants push a fresh blueberry scent from well before harvest, and that carries straight through to the smoke, which comes out thick and smooth while holding a distinctly fruity flavour. Cured flower takes on the deep purple tone the strain is named for, with a sheen across the buds.

The high is cerebral and arrives quickly, building to a peak rather than slamming in. Many growers report a lift in mood, sharper focus, a creative pull and a sociable, talkative streak, with the effect running roughly four to five hours. It is an active smoke rather than a sedating one, which is why it tends to get reached for during the day. As with most sativa-leaning strains, go slow on the first session, since taking too much at once can tip into anxiety.

Growing Purple Haze Autoflower Seeds

The autoflowering version carries ruderalis genetics, which means the plant moves into bloom on its own internal clock rather than waiting for a change in light hours. There is no flip to 12/12 and no timer schedule to manage. Put the seed in its final pot, keep it under a long light day, and the plant handles the rest.

This is a genuinely beginner-friendly seed. The main risk in the early weeks is overwatering and root rot, so watch your temperature and humidity closely and let the medium dry between waterings. Get through the first fortnight cleanly and the rest of the run is mostly maintenance.

Because the total cycle is short and fixed, autos let you stack multiple harvests into a single outdoor season instead of committing everything to one autumn crop. Heavy training is not the play here; gentle work is enough to keep the plant under 1.3m if you need to. Hydroponics pushes the ceiling if you have the kit, though rich soil is the simpler route. Keep pH between 6.0 and 7.0.

What to Expect

Expect roughly 8 to 9 weeks from seed to harvest. Height stays medium at a maximum of about 80cm, which makes it a sensible fit for a single-plant cabinet, a balcony or anywhere you would rather not have a plant visible over a fence.

Indoor yields reach up to 500 grams per square metre, and a well-placed outdoor plant in decent weather can bring in around 400g. Difficulty is low across the board.
