Purple Haze Auto puts the Purple Thai x Haze cross on an autoflower timeline: a sativa-leaning plant with a sweet berry and spice smell and flowers that can turn deep violet as they ripen. It needs no light change, finishes in 8-9 weeks of flowering and fits into a short northern summer.

Purple Haze is a Purple Thai x Haze cross, and this autoflower version keeps both sides. Purple Thai brings the pigment that can turn the flowers violet, along with a sweet berry smell. Haze brings the sativa frame, longer colas and a dry spice note. On the label it is sativa-dominant, THC 20%.

Ruderalis bred into the line makes it autoflowering: it starts blooming with age, whatever the light is doing.

Colour on a short timeline

Some plants turn deep violet in the calyxes and sugar leaves late in flower; others stay green with purple flecks. Cooler temperatures in the final weeks help the colour along. Outdoors, a plant that finishes in late summer may show less purple than one ripening in cooler weather, so indoor growers can encourage it by letting the room drop a few degrees when the lights are off.

How to grow Purple Haze Auto

As a sativa-leaning auto, it grows upward with open spacing between the nodes. Start it in the final container and begin gentle training in the second or third week: bend the main stem, tie it down and let the side branches rise. That gives several even tops instead of one tall cola, and the open structure keeps air moving.

Go light on nutrients. Haze-type autos burn easily, and pale new growth is a better sign of hunger than a slow week. Flowering on the label: 8-9 weeks.

Outdoors in Canada, sow after the last frost. Growers in the warmer regions can often fit a second run in before autumn.

Purple Haze Auto questions

How is Purple Haze Auto different from Purple Haze Feminized?

Both come from Purple Thai x Haze. The auto adds ruderalis and flowers on its own timeline; the feminized version needs the light cut to 12/12 before it blooms.

Will Purple Haze Auto turn purple?

Many plants do in late flower, but not all. Cooler temperatures in the final weeks help bring the colour out.

What does Purple Haze Auto smell like?

Sweet berry from the Purple Thai side, with a dry, spicy Haze note underneath.

So after harvest and curing this bud is choice. Grew two plants and the buds were so different. One had light blueish green buds that were plump with a fruity taste and smell. The other had buds that were real dark green with a hint of blue with bright red hairs. Completely caked with resin. The longer they cure the better they smell and taste. This is my new go to bud.
