the outside of the box
Acapulco Gold is one of the oldest names in cannabis, a Mexican landrace from the hills around Acapulco. It got its name from the colour of its flowers: as they ripen, the pistils turn a golden orange and the buds take on a warm, burnished look. Acapulco Gold autoflower seeds give a plant that blooms by age rather than day length.
Aroma
The smell is sweet and floral, with a toffee-like note and an earthy base. It is not as loud as a diesel, but it travels in a drying room, so plan some filtration.
A sativa for short seasons
Pure Mexican sativas can take months to finish, and in most of Canada the frost arrives before a long-season sativa is done. As an autoflower, Acapulco Gold runs on its own clock: the strain label lists 10 to 11 weeks, long for an auto but short enough to finish in a single summer.

How to grow Acapulco Gold Auto
Sow in late spring straight into the final pot, and make it a big container, since sativa-leaning autos use their extra weeks to build size. Feed lightly, because sativas burn more easily than indicas. Low-stress training spreads the plant and keeps the top from outgrowing the rest. The Acapulco Gold grow guide has more on timing.
