A Dutch classic from two landraces
White Widow was bred in the Netherlands from a Brazilian sativa and a South Indian indica, both landraces. It became one of the best known Dutch strains and a parent of many later hybrids, White Rhino among them.
This regular version is the one breeders use. Regular seeds give a natural mix of males and females, and a White Widow male is how the strain gets into a new cross.
Resin and smell
The resin is the whole story. Trichome heads cover the buds and sugar leaves so thickly that a lot of White Widow ends up as hash. The smell is earthy and woody with pepper and a sharp, pungent edge.

How to grow White Widow
Like any photoperiod, it waits for 12/12 before it flowers, so veg time sets the size. It stretches moderately, takes topping well and handles a range of feeding, which is why it has been a first grow for so many people.
Check the nodes once pre-flowers appear and pull the males early unless you plan to keep one for pollen; a single open male will seed the whole room.
Outdoors the label gives about 450 g per plant. Keep the dense, resin-heavy buds dry in late flower, and harvest when most trichome heads have turned from clear to milky.
