Blue Monster is a four-way cross, and each parent is a well-known name. Blueberry gives the sweet berry nose and a tendency toward blue and purple tones late in bloom. Northern Lights #5 supplies the short internodes and the tight, resinous buds. G13 adds density, and the Mexican landrace keeps a little sativa vigour in the mix.
The strain label calls it indica-dominant, with THC at 22%. Seeds are feminized; the plant is photoperiod.
Berry on the nose, pine underneath
Most plants smell of ripe blueberry once flowering is underway, with pine and a light skunk behind it from the Northern Lights side. The fruit gets sweeter after a slow cure. Late in bloom some phenotypes take on blue or purple shading in the sugar leaves, especially when nights are cool.

How to grow Blue Monster
Blue Monster grows like the indicas in its family tree: a strong central stem, broad leaves and side branches that stay close to the main cola. The label gives a medium height, 100-150 cm, so it fits a standard tent with a single topping and a little training to even the tops.
Flowering is quick at 7-9 weeks. Because Northern Lights buds pack tight, remove the small interior growth before the switch to 12/12 and run a fan through the canopy for the last weeks. Feed moderately; this family rarely needs heavy nutrients to finish well.
Outdoors the fast finish is the main selling point. In a southern Canadian garden it usually ripens in late September or the first days of October, and a plant given the whole summer can reach about 450 g.
