A landrace from Panama
Panama Red was one of the most talked-about imports of the counterculture years, named for the red-orange hairs on its buds. It is a pure sativa landrace: long internodes, thin, narrow leaflets and airy flowers that run the length of each branch. This version adds ruderalis so the plant flowers by age.
Aroma
Sweet and spicy, with clove and earth at the base, herbs and light wood behind, and a grapefruit edge that sharpens as the buds dry. It is an old-fashioned sativa smell rather than a modern candy nose.

How to grow Panama Red Auto
Even as an autoflower, Panama Red takes its time, so it needs more of the season than a fast indica auto. Outdoors, sow it as early as the nights allow, in full sun, so it finishes before the fall rain. Indoors, keep one light schedule, 18/6 or 20/4, from start to finish.
A pure sativa stretches. Leave headroom, and bend and tie the main stem early so the plant grows wide rather than tall. Feed lightly: sativa landraces burn easily and do not need much.
Airy sativa flowers resist rot well, which is a real advantage outdoors late in the season.

I purchased some Panama Red Autos, Harlequin Autos, and Alien Technology Reg. seeds. All seeds popped; one Alien popped but did not break the dirt, no fault of the seeds. My only complaint is that I had a difficult time getting my CC payment through. It kept denying my card. After 3 consecutive chat sessions with the virtual tech and 3 tries with the card, it finally went through. I’ll update after harvest
