A Hawaiian sativa
Maui Wowie traces back to sativa grown on Maui, where long, warm, humid seasons shaped a tall plant with long internodes and narrow leaflets. It became one of the best known strains to come out of Hawaii, and seed versions today keep that sativa-dominant build, roughly 80% sativa and 20% indica.
The smell gives it away in the garden: pineapple, sweet citrus and something close to tropical fruit candy, sharpening as the flowers ripen.

How to grow Maui Wowie
Indoors, flip it early. Switch to 12/12 when the plant is about a third of the height you can allow, because it keeps stretching through the first weeks of bloom. A SCROG net or low-stress training keeps the canopy flat and stops the top colas from running into the light.
It is rated easy because it shrugs off most pests and feeding mistakes, but it is a hungry plant for light. Give it strong light and warmth, avoid cold nights, and the label gives around 400 g/m2 indoors or 450 g per plant outdoors.
